Monday Hit List

This weeks Hit List scours the globe for the best performances in cycling and tri.
And there are plenty of these this week.firstoffthebike.com's Monday Hit List
- Riccardo Ricco - This kid is seriously good. He can climb like no one else in this year's Tour de France. He finished 98th last year at the Tour and this year he is just smashing his more seasoned opponents. Look for him as the Pyrenees and Alps continue. They kept calling him the cobra but when you weigh about 55kg it is hard to think of him as such a menacing creature!
- Emma Snowsill - Not only is she making a habit of winning she is sending a serious message to the rest of the Oylmpic field.let's just hope her form holds out and she can maintain on the right edge of her form until August.
- Cadel Evans - Jersey torn to shreds, visiting the doctor on wheels and obviously riding in pain. if you think Cadel doesn't want this Tour then think again. He is proving to be a genuine tough guy.
- Yvonne Van Vlerken - The Dutch girl has won Quelle Roth again after a super patient win. It is easy to get a bit panicked in a big race but she never gave up and slowly reeled in the flying Belinda Granger.
- Simon Whitfield - Another classy win for this classy athlete. Very tactically astute and proves this time and time again. He too must ride the edge of form to the Olympics. With $60k in his pocket he must be pleased.
Wrongtown of the week:
This one is easy. Manuel Beltran. The man they called 'Tricky' was excluded from the Tour after testing positive to EPO. He was sacked by his team and kicked off the Tour immediately. Yes the system is working and he won't be missed.
