Carfrae - Crowie in 70.3 double

Sunday, 27 July 2008

Mirinda Carfrae has out on another stunning display of 70.3 racing this time at the Newfoundland event. Carfrae is showing herself to be a class above the rest of the world in the 70.3 caper and, with another devastating run split, took off from her competition and was not seen again. The men's event attracted plenty of good athletes headlined by Craig Alexander.

Fans of the man they call Crowie were not disappointed as he won another 70.3 title. Alexander was a little off in the swim but used a masterful bike - run combination to seal the win over Ritchie Cunningham and Chris Legh. Legh, known as a formidable 70.3 racer was left behind in the water and never recovered. He biked well enough to grab a share of the podium.

But Carfrae is in a class of her own. While she did get out biked it is the Carfrae run that is the sting in the tail. She was minutes quicker than her rivals in Cynthia Wilson and Sara Goss. Another day and another win for Carfrae.
